U.S. President Joe Biden says American Teachers Deserve Better
U.S. President Joe Biden paid a personal tribute to America's teachers Friday, July 2, as he addressed the National Education Association Annual Meeting.
Using his own education as an example, Biden said that teachers were "the single most important component of America's future."
Biden credited his own teachers giving him the courage to overcome a stutter when he was young.
The president was also basking in the latest jobs report that America’s employers added 850,000 jobs in June, well above the average of the previous three months, and a sign that companies may be having an easier time finding enough workers to fill open jobs.
"We've now created more jobs since you got me sworn in than any president in American history in the same time frame," he said.
